Give to NAHS
Like other non-profits, Naperville Area Humane Society is always in need of funds and supplies that allow us to continue caring for cats and dogs in our community. NAHS is a 501(c)3 organization. Our tax exempt number is 363040480.
Generous financial contributions help make NAHS a leader in animal welfare and humane education in our community. NAHS receives no government funding and, while we have "humane society" in our name, we receive no funding from the Humane Society of the United States. That makes private donations critical to our continued success. Your gift is extremely important because it provides resources that make an immediate impact and will help us through this interesting - and tough - financial period.
Financial gifts can be through several different programs. They are:
Humane Heroes - is for those donors who want to leave a lasting legacy to the shelter through their estate plan or have made large gifts during their lifetime. These special gifts will help NAHS ensure the care and protection of the pets that bring so much joy to our lives. To learn more, click here.
Tribute Gifts - allow you to make a gift in honor or memory of a family member, friend or pet. They will receive an acknowledgement of your gift. To learn more, click here.
Special Events - with our Putts for Pets Golf Outing and Black Cat Ball & Casino Night: Bets for Pets, NAHS gives supporters the opportunity to have fun while helping the cats and dogs! Putts for Pets is a great day of golfing and includes games on the course and a raffle auction as part of the festivities. The Black Cat Ball & Casino Night: Bets for Pets is an evening of dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, and casino all to benefit the pets at NAHS. We encourage people to participate in these events by attending and/or providing auction items as well as sponsorship. Click on each event to learn more about it.
Pavers for Pets - is an opportunity to leave a lasting imprint of your dedication to NAHS and pave the way to a bright future for the pets and people involved. Engrave your name, a pet's name, a family member or the name of a club or organization on a commemorative brick. Choose between 4" x 8" or 8" x 8" brick and customize the name or message. Your engraved brick(s) will be used to pave the area between our doors on the west side of the shelter. To learn more, click here.
The Lucky 7 Fund - was established to provide veterinary care and grooming for older dogs and cats coming to the shelter. The fund also underwrites the adoption fee for qualified owners choosing to adopt a senior dog or cat (7 years and older). To learn more, click here.
As you can imagine, NAHS goes through lots of cat and dog food as well as cat litter, towels, bleach and other supplies. Drive by the shelter on any given day and you'll see our message board showing the items for which we have the greatest need. Items can be dropped off at the shelter every day between 8 AM and 5 PM using the service entrance. You can find a Wish List of items by clicking here.
You can also drop off aluminum cans and other metals at NAHS in the open trailer in the parking lot. Aurora Metal Recycling collects the contents of the trailer as needed and rewards us for your efforts. You can also post a sign at work to collect aluminum cans on behalf of NAHS.

We are grateful to everyone who supports our cats and dogs as well as the children and adults who volunteer or participate in our educational programs. THANK YOU!
